London-sized iceberg breaks off Antarctica. That’s the reason it be no biggie. | USA TODAY

The ice shelves around Antarctica areextensions, flowing extensions of the, the Antarctic ice sheet. So they do periodically extendout to sea and then break off. It's a natural event. Uh, it'snot linked to climate change. Uh, some of the ice shelves that are brokenup in more northerly locations, uh, are the result of climate change. Butthis one is further south and it's, it's, it's well below freezing there.Ice shelves, a lot of them, their mass is already supported by theocean, so they're already floating. So when they melt, it's a bitlike ice in a gin and tonic.

It doesn't actually change thelevel of the water significantly. So this in itself is not goingto contribute to sea level.
